Synchronizing

Life is good today. Just last night, I was talking with a friend about God. Does God care about our struggles as individuals? Or is God just the Dungeon Master of the Universe, creating the rules, and letting the game play out?

For the last 24 hours, the synchronicties have been jumping out at me relentlessly. A teacher once said that you can gauge spiritual growth by how many synchronicities you start to notice. They've been popping out of the woodwork everywhere: in a song from last night's Dan Bern show, on an old Playboy Magazine cover that some guy was selling at 2:00 in the morning on 6th Avenue, on the bench outside a coffeeshop where a beautiful French-Canadian woman with a cigarette in hand gave me the kindest words of encouragement.

It seems that the Universe is flirting with me. Dropping hints with the promise of something greater, more peaceful, more vital. Only expecting courage and faith on my part.
